Violet's first ice cream cone

Literally every kids' play area was closed except for Chik-Fil-A.  Violet didn't seem to mind.

 Haley showed her the ropes.

 Finally, May 30th in Chicago, folks.  May have something to do with why we're moving.

Violets Are Beautiful, by Grandma Julie

One year ago, Violet was born. 

Sweet little baby, snuggly and warm.
Perfect and beautiful,
Hardly ever cried.
Couldn't find a better baby if you tried.
Brown hair
Stood up high
All blonde hair now, bald on the sides.

Wasn’t very happy when she was all alone.
Didn’t like it much when she was on her own.
She was content
In her Moby wrap.
Had to feel some warmth and closeness so she could nap.
No crib for her.
Slept in mommy's bed.
Had to have her hand touching Mommy’s face or head.

Picking up Haley or Stephie from their school.
Thank goodness Mommy had them in a carpool.
Ear splitting screaming
In her car seat.
Spent lots of time riding in the backseat.
Tired of the straps
And being confined.
Couldn’t really blame her if she cried or whined.

Don't give her bottles or baby food.
Meal extenders put her in a good mood.
Strawberries, blueberries,
Broccoli and grapes.
Breakfast at McDonald’s, eat a pancake.
On the floor playing,
Louie in her face.
He has no concept of personal space.

Violet is pretty as her name implies.
Everyone comments on her ice blue eyes.
Four new teeth
And adorable smile.
Looks like her sisters but has her own style.
Bucket swings
And peek-a-boo.
Crawls to the door to eat Daddy’s shoe.
 

Big girl now we watch her zoom.
Crawling lightning fast across the room.
Outlets are a no-no,
She shakes her hand.
She pulls herself up. She has learned to stand.
Won’t go to bed
Until her sisters do.
Violet’s made this year so special, we love you!
