Yosemite, Day 3
First, we stopped for a picture with the sign on the way into the park.
We took a beautiful hike on the valley floor.
Gorgeous mirror lake. Aptly named.
A bit of a mess.
More gooey childhood memories.
Smashed pennies, of course.
The Majestic Yellowstone Lodge.
Ta da!

Yosemite, Day 2
First, we visited Lower Yosemite Falls.
Thirsty? Silly Daddy.
Violet wanted out of her pack. And then back in.
Next up: Inspiration point. A beautiful view of El Capitan on the left and Half Dome on the right.
Our sweet and sassy 2-year-old!

Violet's 2-year-old stats
Height: 2 feet 10 inches (65%)
Weight: 24.5 pounds (16%)
Might have something to do with the not eating. : )

How Violet Eats...by Grandma Julie
How Violet Eats
Most two-year-olds eat junk food whenever they please.
Chicken fingers, hot dogs, spaghetti and mac and cheese.
When we sit down to dinner, you glance down at your food,
A rainbow of choices in front of you to see if you're in the mood.
Sometimes broccoli or clementines seem like they are fun.
And sometimes nothing strikes you and you say that you’re all done.
And we might try some raisins or some crackers just for you
But when you say that you're all done you are really mean you're through.
Then Mommy plays The Hornpipe. You're excited at the sound.
You giddy-up with one pointed toe and dance around and round.
And then we finish eating and we finally clear the dishes.
We go into the kitchen and you tell us of your wishes.
You ask us for an M and we're happy that you ate.
‘Cause air and sunshine help you grow but chocolate tastes great.
So eat your cake Sweet Violet the purple and the white.
Happy birthday two years old you are a true delight.

Yosemite, day 1
Many apologies for the blogging hiatus. We had no cell phone service and extremely limited internet on our trip. So, with no further delay, the best of Yosemite!
On our way! Violet's first trip facing forward.
She still likes to pet arms when she is tired. Stephie was the lucky recipient.
Our first hike: Mist trail to Vernal Falls.
Beautiful Vernal Falls (seen from Clark's point).
We made it!
Perfect ending to a long day: s'mores.
