Violet at Four

Violet at Four (by Grandma Julie)
Violet Moore just turned four.
It’s time to celebrate how she is great.
Funny, cute, sweet, and smart.
She gives us hugs and kisses
and has a great big heart.
She likes to play games with all of us
Like Zingo, or Dora, or the Pigeon on the Bus.
Counting to 100, starting to read.
Her art is really great! We’re all agreed.
Preschool, swimming, ballet and tap.
They make her really tired
so she takes her nap.
She speaks all her letters from A to Z,
But she has a hard time with R and SP.
Stories of Holly are lots of fun.
She’s still Violet’s favorite one.
Liam in Hawaii, Johnny’s there too.
We’re surprised that he’s a dog
But Violet says that it’s true.
Johnny is Holly’s husband though he lives far away
Hooray it’s Holly’s birthday. How old is she today?
Violet’s magic tricks are really fine!
She turns a six into a nine!
Cards come out one by one.
She tells the suit and number
until the deck is done.
She likes the trick where you pull out the sword.
And abracadabra is her favorite magic word.
Violet stays with Papa when we go in a walk.
She lines up the animals or puts them on the ark.
She plays with the eggcups.
Handles them with care.
She hands the broken ones to Papa for him to repair.
She likes her fairy garden and our vegetable bed.
She loves to pick a strawberry when one of them turns red.
Violet likes carrots and zucchini is nice.
Bread and butter and cauliflower rice
Raspberries and pizza. She doesn’t love meat.
She’s all done eating so she asks for a treat.
She takes out the blankets and she makes a tent.
We all say “We wonder where Violet went?”
A special year is coming now that Violet is four.
She’s started Irish dance which she’s been waiting for.
Point, up, one, two, three.
Follow all the steps.
Put your foot up to your knee.
Valerie is excited to have her there.
Violet doesn’t need a wig with her naturally curly hair.
