When you turned four, I said to you,
“Violet you are a star!”
Don’t change a thing about yourself
You’re perfect as you are.
Six months have passed and now I see
That you are even better.
Your ABC’s are perfect now
And you can write each letter.
You’re starting to read and sound out words
And even read whole phrases.
And when we do your workbooks
Your favorites are the mazes.
You count one hundred with little help.
And all of them you write
With perfect form and penmanship.
They really are a sight!
Your drawings are amazing
and you color with markers so fine.
The cards you make are beautiful
With your name and your design.
In Irish dance the past six months
You’ve perfected your jump two threes.
You memorize the dances fast.
You’re so much better than me!
You started piano lessons
And you practice every day.
You read the notes and count the time.
I love to hear you play.
We celebrate your changes
And we see how much you’ve grown.
You’re one of the nicest, sweetest girls
That I have ever known.
